John Callahan
DIRECTOR, GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
John Callahan joined the Government Affairs team as a Director of Government Affairs in October 2007. He represents the interests of PA Chamber members during state budget negotiations. Callahan is responsible for the organization’s business tax policy and public welfare policies. He serves as consultant on financial, accounting and privacy/security legislation. Callahan also has knowledge of healthcare and legal reform policies.
Callahan specializes in Political Action Committee fundraising and manages the Chambers Political Action Committee, ChamberPAC. His leadership has lead to record breaking contribution levels each year.
Prior to joining the PA Chamber, Callahan served as Assistant Vice President of Government Relations for the Pennsylvania Bankers Association. He also was Government Relations Manager for the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and completed an internship in the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Callahan also worked in economic development with the Chester County Economic Development Council.
Callahan has been quoted on CNN and is often interviewed on Comcast Newsmakers. He has served as a guest on PA Newsmakers and has spoken at National Conferences on Pennsylvania politics.
Callahan is a registered lobbyist and is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Government Relations. He is a graduate of West Chester University with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
