"The PA Chamber is an incredibly influential voice for the business community. Many legislators clearly see that the chamber is comprised of a diverse cross section of business leaders who can provide guidance as to what the priorities should be." - Sen. Jane Earll, R-Erie
Chamber's Waste Work Group to analyze consolidation proposals

Members want business benefits to be retained

Members of the PA Chamber's Solid Waste Work Group will meet on March 31 to continue their analysis of the Department of Environmental Protection's proposed consolidation of municipal and residual waste regulations. Work group subcommittees will report on their respective recommendations in preparation for the PA Chamber's submittal of official comments to DEP.

The work group is examining the proposed changes with regard to their potential impact on the business community. While the PA Chamber is historically supportive of the streamlining of regulations, there have been some changes to each individual waste regulation over the years that have been beneficial to the business community. The chamber is working to ensure that these benefits are not lost during consolidation efforts.

For more information on the upcoming meeting or the Solid Waste Work Group, contact PA Chamber Director of Government Affairs Stephanie Catarino-Wissman at swissman@pachamber.org.
