Chamber weighs in on climate change, health-care reform
Comcast Newsmakers discussions to air throughout December
Segments of Comcast Newsmakers that will air throughout December will feature members of the PA Chamber’s Government Affairs staff discussing the state’s draft Climate Change Action plan, as well as federal health-care reform.
PA Chamber Government Affairs Director Stephanie Catarino Wissman will present the business community’s view of the state’s draft climate change recommendations. The Chamber recently submitted its official comments on the recommendations, which were developed by the Climate Change Advisory Committee created by Act 70 of 2008. The final plan will be presented to the General Assembly on Dec. 18.
In a separate segment, Government Affairs Director Sam Denisco explains why the business community is concerned about public option provisions contained in proposed federal health-care reform legislation. He will also offer businesses’ ideas for improving the system by focusing on free market solutions that foster greater competition among health-care insurers and providers and greater consumer involvement in their health care.
