ChamberPAC announces endorsement in 124th District House race
Jerry Knowles earns business' backing in special election
ChamberPAC, the political arm of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, announced its endorsement of Republican Jerry Knowles for state representative in the 124th District.
Knowles will face Democrat William Mackey Jr. in a special election that coincides with the May 19 primary election. The special election will fill the seat left vacant by former long-time House member David Argall's election to the state Senate on March 3.
"Knowles has an excellent understanding of what is needed to improve the Commonwealth's competitiveness and grow jobs for citizens, as demonstrated by his views on business tax, lawsuit abuse and health-care reform," said John Callahan, ChamberPAC manager and director of government affairs for the PA Chamber.
"His constituents would also benefit greatly from his knowledge of the government process and the needs of local communities gained through his experience as Schuylkill County Commissioner, Tamaqua mayor and Tamaqua Borough Council member.
Callahan said residents in parts of the 124th District have already been well-served by Jerry Knowles' public service at the county and local level.
"The entire district will find in Knowles a quality candidate for state representative, and that is why he has earned ChamberPAC's endorsement."
The 124th District comprises Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton and Schuylkill counties. |
