PA Chamber Joins U.S. and Local Chamber Partners for Roundtable on Federal Tax Policy

The PA Chamber joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber for a roundtable discussion in Allentown last Wednesday with U.S. Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07) and local business leaders, focused on preserving key provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA).

Several elements of the TCJA are set to expire at the end of 2025 unless renewed by Congress. Without congressional action, the result would be one of the largest tax increases in U.S. history. Business leaders at the event emphasized the importance of maintaining a pro-growth tax code that supports private investment and job creation.

“The pro-growth provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act have been instrumental in helping Pennsylvania businesses invest, expand, and create jobs,” said PA Chamber Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Alex Halper. “These policies provided the certainty and capital many employers needed to grow — benefits that are now at risk if Congress fails to act. We are grateful to Congressman Ryan Mackenzie for his leadership in supporting a continuing resolution that keeps these critical provisions in place, and we appreciate the U.S. Chamber’s consistent leadership on this issue.”

The discussion is part of the U.S. Chamber’s Growing America’s Future campaign — a nationwide effort to highlight the role tax policy plays in supporting a strong U.S. economy. The PA Chamber will continue working with our partners at every level to promote a tax climate that helps Pennsylvania employers continue to compete, invest and grow.
