Members of the PA Chamber’s President’s Roundtable, an exclusive, top-tier level of PA Chamber Investor Members, traveled to Washington, D.C. last week with members of the PA Chamber team for two days of productive meetings with members of the PA Congressional delegation and Administration officials.
These business leaders dialogued with Republican and Democratic Pennsylvania members of Congress, U.S. Senator Dave McCormick, CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, and U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Topics included supporting Pennsylvania’s employers, the workforce, and the overall economy. Together, they discussed:
- Ongoing negotiations to reach agreement on a “Reconciliation” package emphasizing the importance of extending the small business and other tax cut provisions in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that expire this year. Failing to do so would result in the largest tax increase in American history.
- The administration’s evolving tariff and economic policy, and efforts underway to negotiate bilateral trade deals; and
- The importance of maintaining affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare while addressing cost drivers.
