Summer Spotlight Series: Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest Brings Shore Vibes to Philadelphia

Philadelphia’s waterfront is sizzling with summer fun as the Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest is in full swing at Penn’s Landing now through September 1, 2025. This seasonal favorite transforms the Delaware River waterfront into a vibrant, carnival-style escape that blends boardwalk nostalgia with the City of Brotherly Love.

At the heart of the action is the Independence Blue Cross RiverRink, which offers $5 roller-skating sessions (with $12 skate rentals). Members of Independence Blue Cross, military personnel, and first responders enjoy free admission for themselves and up to three guests.

The Midway is alive with pay-as-you-go attractions like a 60-foot Ferris wheel, a double-decker carousel, and the Gravity Storm Moon Bounce. Families and friends can also enjoy mini-golf, arcade games, and themed events like 80s DJ skate nights and character-themed skates.

Foodies can indulge in Philly favorites from Chickie’s and Pete’s, carnival classics from Skelly’s Concessions, and refreshing drinks at the Lodge, featuring local brews and summery cocktails.

Admission is free and open to the public, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists. With scenic views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and a festive atmosphere, Summerfest is a shining example of how Philadelphia is designing its riverfront for all to enjoy.
