PA Chamber Hosts 2025 Energy and Environmental Conference, Spotlighting Energy Investment, Innovation, and Environmental Leadership

Last week, the PA Chamber welcomed the state’s foremost energy and environmental leaders and lawmakers to Harrisburg for the 2025 Energy and Environmental Conference, a highly anticipated and timely annual event focused on shaping Pennsylvania’s energy and environmental future.

In opening remarks, PA Chamber President and CEO Luke Bernstein emphasized that 2025 is a pivotal year for the energy industry, citing record levels of energy investment and AI data centers across Pennsylvania and the rapid pace of innovation. Given the historic investments flowing to Pennsylvania, Bernstein encouraged policymakers to enact policies that will entice further business development and job growth.

PA Chamber Director of Government Affairs Amy Brinton followed with a major announcement: the launch of the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Institute, a first-of-its-kind platform designed to convene leaders across the energy and technology sectors and develop a forward-looking strategy that promotes innovation, investment, and job creation. Brinton encouraged conference goers to contact her if interested in joining the Institute’s rapidly growing ranks and reaffirmed the PA Chamber’s mission to ensure the Commonwealth remains globally competitive.

The morning featured a keynote discussion with Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission Chairman Stephen DeFrank, who addressed challenges related to energy grid supply and demand. Following his remarks, the PA Chamber presented its “Leadership in Energy Service Award” to state Sen. Gene Yaw (R-Lycoming) in recognition of his being a long-term champion for policies that foster energy growth while minimizing environmental impact.

Two breakout sessions followed:

  • One panel explored PFAS-related challenges and solutions, featuring experts in environmental quality, engineering, and water innovation.
  • Another panel, including Sen. Yaw and DEP Deputy Secretary Ramez Ziadeh, focused on emerging issues in permitting reform.

The day concluded with a plenary panel on Pennsylvania’s energy landscape and potential. Public and private sector energy experts shared insights on how the Commonwealth can leverage its energy assets to build a dynamic economy for current and future generations.

The PA Chamber extends its gratitude to the 2025 Energy and Environmental Conference sponsors:
