The PA Chamber President’s Roundtable (PRT) – the highest level of membership for organizations to have the greatest role in influencing the PA Chamber’s mission to lead Pennsylvania to future economic prosperity – held its annual Washington, D.C. Fly-In last week.
The PRT members met with the nation’s top policymakers on Capitol Hill and in the White House, including U.S. Energy Secretary Christopher Wright and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, to discuss the Pennsylvania’s business community’s priorities and strengthen federal partnerships.
The Fly-In kicked off with a roundtable discussion with four of the U.S. House Majority’s top policy staffers – Aaron Bonnaure, Chief of Staff for House Chief Deputy Whip Congressman Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA); Bill Ball, Senior Policy Advisor for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA); Ian Foley, Policy Director for House Majority Whip Tom Emmer; and Parish Braden, Staff Director for the House Agriculture Committee. The interactive discussion covered topics ranging from federal permitting reform, tariffs, artificial intelligence guardrails, housing policy, and Congress’s use of the budget reconciliation process to pass big ticket priorities including immigration, national security, election security, and tax changes.
The PRT also held briefings and discussions with Scott Brady, Executive Director of the White House Tax Force to Eliminate Fraud, who discussed his work to identify processes that are most susceptible to fraud schemes and develop a report outlining recommendations for better safeguarding federal funds; as well as Tim Monahan, Vice President and Managing Director of Government Affairs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The Fly-In concluded with briefings and discussions at the White House, where Energy Secretary Wright and EPA Administrator Zeldin each discussed their agency’s efforts to support Pennsylvania’s energy sector and help advance smart, responsible economic development.
