PA Chamber Vice President of Government Affairs Alex Halper recently joined local chamber officials, state and federal lawmakers, and members of Hanover’s local business community to celebrate the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce’s centennial anniversary.
Founded in 1923, the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce officially marked its 100th year during a reception at the historic Warehime-Myers Mansion on Aug. 23, 2023. Elected officials in attendance included U.S. Congressman Lloyd Smucker (PA-11), State Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York), State Representative Kate Klunk (R-York), and York County Commissioners Doug Hoke and Julie Wheeler.
While reception attendees gathered on the lawn to recognize this milestone anniversary, Halper delivered brief remarks commending Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce President Gary Laird and his team for their efforts in advocating for businesses and working to drive community and economic development in the region.
During his address, Halper emphasized the critical partnerships that unite chamber organizations at the local, state, and federal levels. U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice President Kevin Courtois also attended the event and spoke about the importance of collaboration in supporting pro-business policies at all levels.
As the Statewide Voice of Business, the PA Chamber’s mission is to improve Pennsylvania’s economic competitiveness by advocating for pro-business tax and regulatory reforms that will help attract jobs, investment, and opportunity into the Commonwealth.
With nearly 10,000 members across virtually every sector of the state economy, we are proud to support organizations like the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce dedicated to improving life in their communities. Congratulations on 100 years of serving the business community – here’s to 100 more!
