The Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Senate are gearing up for the first week of annual budget hearings. This week, both chambers will convene to review funding and policy proposals for various state agencies.
In the House, hearings start Tuesday with the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) and the Revenue Department, followed by discussions on funding for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) on Wednesday. Thursday’s agenda covers the Department of Aging and the Department of Agriculture, wrapping up with the Department of Corrections and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Authority (PHFA) on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Senate will review budgets for the Independent Fiscal Office (IFO) and Department of Corrections on Tuesday, PASSHE, and DCED on Wednesday, and the Department of Labor and Industry (L&I) and Department of Military and Veterans Affairs on Thursday.
