A new PA Chamber whiteboard video explains why Pennsylvania needs to eliminate its start-up tax and raise the deduction cap on Net Operating Losses (NOLs).
The video explains that by capping NOLs at 40 percent (instead of 80 percent, like most other states and the federal government), Pennsylvania not only puts itself at a competitive disadvantage but also makes it especially hard for companies to open here. On top of that, PA’s arbitrarily low deduction cap discourages existing companies from investing in the Commonwealth.
The video expresses the PA Chamber’s support for legislation that would raise the cap on NOLs, which would make Pennsylvania a more attractive place to do business.
