The PA Chamber, alongside local chamber leaders from across the state, has taken to the editorial pages of various newspapers to voice our appreciation to elected officials for their help enacting important pro-business reforms in this year’s state budget. These letters highlight significant achievements that will benefit employers and strengthen Pennsylvania’s economy.
In the Northeast Times, a letter commended Rep. Martina White for her persistent advocacy for permitting reform, ultimately resulting in enactment of the Streamlining Permits for Economic Expansion and Development (SPEED) Program. This initiative is set to reduce delays in development projects, encourage investment, and create jobs by allowing for third-party reviews of key permits.
The Washington Observer-Reporter featured a letter thanking Rep. Josh Kail for his leadership on Net Operating Loss (NOL) reform, which eliminates Pennsylvania’s start-up tax. This crucial change aligns Pennsylvania’s tax code with federal standards, creating a more attractive business climate.
The Allentown Morning Call published a letter recognizing Senator Nick Miller, who also advocated for NOL reform and served as a key champion in the state Senate. His support has resulted in critical victories for Pennsylvania’s business community, enabling businesses to increase their carryforward and reinvest in their operations.
A letter published in Lancaster Online recognized Senator Scott Martin for his leadership in securing critical tax improvements, permitting reform, and workforce development initiatives.
The PA Chamber encourages business leaders to reach out and recognize their elected officials for their support of business-friendly initiatives.
