Out and About: PA Chamber Engages with Leaders Across the State and Beyond

Last week, the PA Chamber team was busy advocating for Pennsylvania’s business community, making key appearances at events both across the state and nationally. From energy leadership discussions to tax policy forums, the Chamber’s efforts focused on advancing pro-growth policies and supporting the Commonwealth’s industries.

PA Chamber President and CEO Luke Bernstein traveled to Erie for the Marcellus Shale Coalition’s annual Shale Insight Conference, where he spoke about Pennsylvania’s role in fueling energy security and environmental efforts. Luke also toured Penn State Behrend and met with university representatives. Joining him at the conference were PA Chamber Director of Government Affairs Amy Brinton, who joined the PA Chamber team recently focusing on energy policy and environmental issues, and PA Chamber Vice President of Membership Bill Miller.

Alex Halper, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, kicked off his week in Upper Darby, where he participated in a small business roundtable alongside U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, and Neil Bradley, executive vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. On Thursday, Alex traveled to Coraopolis for another business roundtable with State Rep. Valerie Gaydos, co-hosted with the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce. .

Vice President and General Counsel Megan Martin represented the PA Chamber by co-hosting a women’s “Level Up” luncheon in West Brandywine Township with Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry President Laura Manion, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick.

Director of Government Affairs Neal Lesher took part in the Council on State Taxation’s annual meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, where he served on a panel discussion about business tax policies in the Northeast. Neal provided insight into the upcoming legislative sessions and was joined by tax policy experts from New Hampshire, New York, and New Jersey.

Director of Political Engagement Allison Coccia coordinated a ChamberPAC Business Roundtable in Erie, featuring state Senators Scott Martin and Dan Laughlin. The event provided an opportunity for business leaders to engage directly with policymakers.

Lastly, Manager of Government Affairs Aaron Riggleman testified before the House Republican Policy Committee at a field hearing on Tuesday, where he advocated for pro-business policies to strengthen Pennsylvania’s economy. Aaron also joined Alex Halper for Thursday’s roundtable discussion with Rep. Valerie Gaydos and local business leaders.
