A Look Ahead for the Week of April 26

The state Senate is in session this week.  There are a number of items of interest to the business community scheduled to be considered in committee or before the full chamber.

Tomorrow, the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee is scheduled to vote on several regulatory reform bills.  These proposals are designed to reduce the Commonwealth’s overly burdensome regulatory environment, which our members have often cited as a barrier to growth.  Regulatory reform is a key component of the PA Chamber’s Bringing PA Back initiative, a member-driven recovery effort to advocate for policies that will rebuild Pennsylvania’s economy in a manner that provides opportunity for all.

Also on Tuesday, the Senate Labor and Industry Committee will meet to consider S.B. 319 – legislation the PA Chamber supports to address a damaging PA Supreme Court decision known as Whitmoyer by clarifying language in the Workers’ Compensation Act as it relates to subrogation rights.

The full list of committee meetings, which is subject to change, is available on the General Assembly website.
