Today, Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry President and CEO Luke Bernstein released the following statement regarding the announcement that the former Homer City Generating Station will be transformed into a more than 3,200 acre natural gas-powered data center campus:
“This announcement is a monumental step forward for Pennsylvania, showcasing the incredible economic benefits that can be achieved by harnessing our vast energy resources,” Bernstein said. “Pennsylvania has an unmatched history of leading the nation’s energy revolution, and this project underscores our ability to continue powering the nation and the world for generations to come. The construction of a natural gas-fueled data center campus at the Homer City power plant site is not just a win for our economy—it’s a testament to the innovation and resilience that define the Commonwealth, our businesses, and our workforce. This is how we stay competitive — putting our energy resources to work, driving innovation, and powering the future of our economy.”
