Aerium has announced a major partnership with Horizon Aerobotics, poised to accelerate innovation in autonomous aviation while strengthening Pennsylvania’s position as a national leader in next-generation workforce development. The collaboration brings Horizon Aerobotics’ expanding U.S. operations to Cambria County and activates Aerium’s ecosystem of educators, industry partners, and community organizations to support the growth of a transformative new aviation sector.

“Pennsylvania’s Southern Alleghenies region has shown that it is ready to lead the next chapter of aviation,” said Larry Nulton, PhD., Aerium Chair. “Horizon Aerobotics’ decision to put its national operations hub here validates years of coordinated work across education, workforce development, and infrastructure investment.”

Aerium’s regional ecosystem—purpose-built to support advanced air mobility, UAS integration, and emerging aviation technologies – played a pivotal role in Horizon Aerobotics’ decision to anchor its U.S. Remote Operations Center in Cambria County. Central to the partnership is Aerium’s mission to build a new generation of aviation professionals equipped for increasingly complex UAS operations, including many-to-one fleet management and beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) flight.

Horizon Aerobotics anticipates adding approximately 247 highly skilled positions, and Aerium is coordinating regional educational and workforce programs to prepare candidates for these emerging roles.

Institutions including St. Francis University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown are collaborating with Aerium and Horizon Aerobotics to create a seamless education-to-industry pipeline. This pipeline offers new curriculum pathways, hands‑on technical training, and opportunities for applied research. Read more.

Devon Energy and Coterra Energy announced last week the signing of a definitive agreement to merge in an all-stock transaction. The combination will create a leading large-cap shale operator with a high-quality asset base anchored by a premier position in the economic core of the Delaware Basin.

The combined company will be named Devon Energy and will be headquartered in Houston. The formation of this premier company is expected to unlock substantial value by leveraging each company’s core strengths and through the realization of $1 billion in annual pre-tax synergies.

Tom Jorden, Chairman, CEO, and President of Coterra said, “This combination enhances the Delaware and brings together two premier organizations with complementary cultures rooted in operational excellence, disciplined capital allocation, and data‑driven decision-making focused on creating per share value. The combined company will offer best-in-class rock quality and inventory depth, supported by a balanced commodity mix, leading cost structure, and a conservative balance sheet. Devon Energy will be strongly positioned to deliver top-tier capital efficiency gains and consistent profitable per share growth through the commodity cycles.” Read more.

Denim Coffee recently marked its 9th Anniversary by serving coffee in the heart of Carlisle and the Cumberland Valley at its Cafe (1 S Hanover St, Carlisle), unveiling several improvements to its cafe space. Through Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation’s Tourism Recovery Grant Program, Denim Coffee was able to purchase a new oven, tables and chairs, window bars, acoustic treatment and a self-serve water station. These improvements were geared toward making the space move inviting and comfortable for visitors and guests.

“When we opened at 1 S Hanover St back in December 2016, it was our first ever cafe build out.” said Matt Ramsay, Founder and co-owner of Denim Coffee. “Thanks to CAEDC, we were able to tackle several projects at once and raise the comfortability and aesthetics to a whole new level. We are thrilled to welcome the community out to experience the new and improved Denim Coffee Carlisle Cafe.”

In addition, Denim Coffee also announced launch of its own chai concentrate now served at all Denim Coffee cafes and available in-store and online; allowing customers to take their at-home Denim Coffee experience to a whole new level. Through carefully curated, specifically dialed-in ingredients, Denim Coffee has created a chai that is sweet (molasses), fruity (orange peel), and just a touch of heat on the finish (black pepper).

“We are stoked about this Chai,” Ramsay said. “We began developing this recipe almost a year ago with our new supplier to create a distinct, elevated chai beverage featuring a unique flavor profile.”
