PA Chamber Leads Effort to Ensure Pennsylvania Shines at Great American State Fair

When reports surfaced that Pennsylvania’s pavilion at the inaugural Great American State Fair (GASF) would sit empty, the PA Chamber stepped forward to ensure the Commonwealth would have a strong presence on the national stage.

Working alongside U.S. Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman, the Chamber helped build a broad, bipartisan coalition of organizations, businesses, and individuals to bring the Pennsylvania Pavilion to life in just a matter of days. By the July 4th weekend, it was the most visited of all the state pavilions on the National Mall – showcasing the people, products, and industries that make the Keystone State special.

The effort began after concerns emerged that Pennsylvania might not be represented at the fair. Recognizing the importance of the event—held as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration—the PA Chamber mobilized immediately, connecting with member companies, institutions, and partners from across the Commonwealth to assemble a pavilion worthy of Pennsylvania’s legacy and economic strength.

The response has been remarkable.

Businesses and organizations from across the state have rallied to support the effort with products, displays, and exhibits that tell Pennsylvania’s story. Visitors to the pavilion can experience iconic Pennsylvania brands and industries through contributions including Crayola crayons, Utz and Middleswarth chips, Asher’s chocolates, Yuengling and Pittsburgh Brewing Company memorabilia, Vitro glass, Pennsylvania coal, handcrafted wooden keystones, hard hats representing the Commonwealth’s energy and construction sectors, Pennsylvania American Water bottles, and even a life-sized replica of the Liberty Bell courtesy of Commonwealth Charter Academy.

The pavilion highlights Pennsylvania’s unique role in shaping America’s history while demonstrating the innovation, manufacturing excellence, energy leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit that continue to drive the Commonwealth forward today.

“This effort has showcased the very best of Pennsylvania,” said PA Chamber President & CEO Luke Bernstein. “When the opportunity arose to ensure our state was represented, businesses and partners from every corner of the Commonwealth stepped up. The overwhelming support we’ve received demonstrates the pride Pennsylvanians have in our history, our products, and our future.”

The initiative is also notable because of the collaborative leadership behind it. The White House, federal leaders, business organizations, and private-sector partners worked together to ensure Pennsylvania would be represented at one of the nation’s highest-profile celebrations leading up to the United States’ 250th birthday.

For the PA Chamber, the mission has remained simple: ensure that Pennsylvania’s business community and world-class industries have the opportunity to be showcased alongside every other state in the nation.

As thousands of visitors make their way through the Great American State Fair – which you can visit through July 10 – the Pennsylvania Pavilion stands as a powerful testament to what can be accomplished when leaders, businesses, and communities come together behind a common purpose. Pennsylvania is not only represented—it is making a lasting impression.
