The PA Chamber took its statewide business agenda on the road last week, meeting with local business and civic leaders to discuss Pennsylvania’s progress on key issues and the work ahead to make the Commonwealth more competitive.

Members of the PA Chamber team visited the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, and the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen connections with chamber community partners across Pennsylvania.

Bill Miller, vice president of external relations, represented the PA Chamber in Indiana County. Aaron Riggleman, director of government affairs, addressed the Westmoreland County Chamber, and Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Alex Halper participated in the Lower Bucks County Chamber event.

The conversations highlighted several areas where the PA Chamber and its local partners have helped advance a more competitive business climate, including the phase-down of Pennsylvania’s Corporate Net Income Tax to 4.99 percent by 2031, improvements to the state’s treatment of net operating losses, permitting reform, and continuing efforts to address employers’ workforce needs.

“These aren’t just Harrisburg issues,” Miller said. “When we make Pennsylvania more competitive, the positive impacts reach employers and communities in every corner of the Commonwealth. Our statewide network of chamber partners helps us understand what businesses are experiencing on the ground, and together we can turn that insight into meaningful progress.”

The PA Chamber also highlighted the broader economic opportunity ahead for Pennsylvania, including investments in energy and grid infrastructure, manufacturing, life sciences, technology, and transportation. While Pennsylvania has made significant progress on competitiveness in recent years, the PA Chamber team emphasized that the Commonwealth must continue advancing policies that encourage businesses to invest, expand, and create jobs.

Local, county, and regional chambers of commerce play a key role in that effort by advocating for their members and providing the PA Chamber with firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities facing employers in their communities.

“Strong chambers throughout the Commonwealth make a strong statewide business community,” Halper said. “Our partnership with these organizations gives Pennsylvania employers a stronger collective voice and helps ensure that the policies we advance in Harrisburg translate into real opportunities in communities across our Commonwealth.”
