PA Chamber Welcomes Global Energy Leaders and Government Officials to Pittsburgh for Clean Energy Action Forum

Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry President and CEO Luke Bernstein issued the following statement regarding the Global Clean Energy Action Forum taking place in Pittsburgh this week.  More information on the event can be found here.

“We are tremendously excited for the Commonwealth to host this year’s Global Clean Energy Action Forum. It’s especially meaningful that the event will take place in Pittsburgh, which has been home to so many historic advances in energy and manufacturing, and we thank leadership at the Clean Energy Ministerial and the U.S. Department of Energy for honoring the Steel City’s energy legacy in making the site selection.

“As business leaders and government officials from around the world visit our beautiful state, we hope they find a warm welcome and leave feeling impressed with the tremendous amount of innovation and resources being developed in Pennsylvania to power the global economy and meet pressing environmental challenges. Our world-class academic institutions, access to markets, and industrial leadership are key assets to long-term success on these fronts.

“As the nation’s top energy exporter and home to the nation’s largest electrical grid, Pennsylvania is at the forefront of fueling our nation’s energy needs and leading the way in innovation and development.  In fact, one of our state’s greatest competitive assets is our abundance of reliable, accessible, and affordable energy resources.  While securing our role as an energy leader, we have also achieved national environmental goals by significantly reducing our overall emissions.  We look forward to a robust dialogue at this year’s forum, focusing on the balance of how a strong private sector and government policy can promote a diverse energy portfolio – including coal, natural gas, nuclear, hydrogen, and renewables – while also allowing for innovation that will help meet our nation’s energy, environmental, and economic goals.”
