The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry today congratulated the newly-elected leadership teams for Republicans and Democrats in the state Senate.
The Republican leadership team representing the Senate majority will be Pro Tempore Kim Ward (R-Westmoreland), the first woman to be appointed by fellow lawmakers to the Senate’s top position; Leader Joe Pittman (R-Armstrong/Butler/Indiana/Westmoreland); Whip Ryan Aument (R-Lancaster); Caucus Chair Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York); Caucus Secretary Camera Bartolotta (R-Beaver/Greene/Washington); and Appropriations Committee Chair Scott Martin (R-Lancaster).
The leadership team representing Senate Democrats will be Leader Jay Costa (D-Allegheny); Whip Christine Tartaglione (D-Philadelphia); Caucus Chair Wayne Fontana (D-Allegheny); Caucus Secretary Maria Collett (D-Bucks/Montgomery); and Appropriations Committee Chair Vincent Hughes (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery).
“Congratulations to the Senators chosen by their colleagues to lead the Republican and Democratic caucuses next session – and a special shout out to my friend, Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward, on her historic election to Pennsylvania state government’s third-highest post,” Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry President and CEO Luke Bernstein said. “These leaders will play a central role in determining the direction of our Commonwealth over the next two years.
