Last week, Gov.-elect Josh Shapiro announced his Transition Leadership Board, a key group of leaders from organized labor and industry who will advise him during the transition.
The 11-member board includes individuals from PA Chamber member companies, including Tom Hagen, Chairman of the Board of Erie Indemnity Company and former Pennsylvania Secretary of Commerce and Secretary of Community & Economic Development; Gregory E. Deavens, President and CEO of Independence Health Group; Laura Karet, CEO of Giant Eagle and Chair of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development; and Michelle Singer, Senior Vice President of Comcast.
Shapiro also announced his Transition Personnel Committee, which will be chaired by Lt. Gov-elect Austin Davis and includes Andrea Stanford, Vice President, Pittsburgh Regional Manager at BNY Mellon, a PA Chamber member company.
Additionally, the Shapiro-Davis transition’s legal counsel includes three individuals from PA Chamber member companies: Mira Baylson, Member at Cozen O’Connor; Tracey McCants Lewis, Deputy General Counsel and Director of Human Resources at the Pittsburgh Penguins; and David Nasatir, Chairman of Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel.
The gubernatorial transition works to ensure the smooth transfer of power from one administration to the next. The Transition Leadership Board will work with the current administration and the Gov.-elect’s transition team, which will be built out over the coming weeks and months leading up to the inauguration, to identify personnel and develop legislative and administrative priorities.
The PA Chamber congratulates these individuals from our member companies for being appointed to these critical positions and looks forward to working with them and the rest of the gubernatorial transition to ensure that Pennsylvania continues to advance pro-growth, pro-business policies.
