Kinder Morgan: Fueling Pennsylvania

Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We operate approximately 83,000 miles of pipelines and 141 terminals across 44 U.S. states. Our pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide and more. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products.

Here in Pennsylvania, Kinder Morgan operates approximately 865 miles of our Tennessee Gas Pipeline system and two terminals. We employ over 220 people and have operations in 19 counties across the state.

  • Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP) is an approximately 11,760-mile pipeline system that transports natural gas from the Northeastern U.S., including Pennsylvania, to diverse end-use demand markets including New York City and Boston in the Northeast, the Louisiana and Texas Gulf Coast and Mexico. The pipeline provides vital takeaway capacity for natural gas produced in Pennsylvania’s Marcellus shale formation. This pipeline also supplies gas to major utilities serving the Northeast.
  • American Petroleum Tankers (APT), a Kinder Morgan subsidiary, is headquartered in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. APT owns and operates 16 Jones Act- qualified products tankers, each with a 330,000 barrel cargo capacity to transport crude oil, condensate and refined products. Like all Jones Act vessels, these tankers are U.S.-flagged, staffed by U.S. crews and only travel between U.S. ports.
  • Terminals: Kinder Morgan operates two terminals in Pennsylvania— in Philadelphia and Fairless Hills.
